iriver T30 512 MB MP3 Player Review

I bought this player refubished and it was wonderfull! It was my first mp3 player but i didn’t have any problems. It arrived MUCH earlier than expected, with every thing I needed. The songs were very easy to load. All I needed to do was dowload windows media player 10 (which they provided)! The menu was very helpful and easy to acess. The player was very durable (I dropped it more than I can count) it even spent a night in the snow which put it out of commision for about a month ,but it came right back after drying out! The only things that would make this player better would be: an armband or case(it comes with a neck band), being able to make a playlist from the player ,and a radio! I am considering geting the 1GB after mine finally gave up the ghost two years later. I defintly recomend this player!

iRiver T30 (refurbished) review – Barbara Hunter – Baltimore, MD USA
I bought this product in anticipation of recording my cassette tapes and dance mix CDs. It does just fine, but the software is not as good as my Toshiba Gigabeat U at separating tracks from cassettes. The noise from running the cassette itself makes it impossible for the iRiver to separate any of the tracks which I find to be a disappointment, but on the other hand I appreciate the ability to raise or lower the line-in recording volume and the high and variable bitrates (192, 256, 320kbps) to which I can record the tapes to. One bit of trouble: I cannot delete any unwanted tracks from the T30 without hooking it up to a PC. I have followed the manual’s instructions on where to find the delete mode but it is not there in the advanced section of the iRiver functions like the manual says it should be. I find this troubling. One more thing: this thing eats batteries alive!! I am presently using the lastest Energizer lithium battery and after a few hours of recording and transferring audio files to PC, I find that I have to replace the battery. Thank God for the discount I got on these things so that I can keep this thing going!
In conclusion, I like the iRiver T30 512mb (wanted a 1GB but kept on winding up with nothing) for it’s versatility. I especially like that I can listen to the audio files that I am recording because of the separate mic and headphone jacks. One question though: Why does iRiver not include line-in recording on all of it’s MP3 players like the T50 or T60? I find the company’s inconsistency very frustrating. I hope in the future that I can find an MP3 player that offers the same kind of variable bitrate line-in recording capabilities as the T30 but with a huge amount of gigabytes.

High C/P – Chao-po Lin – NJ, USA
The iRiver MP3 player is not as fashion as iPod, but the C/P value is quite high. So far I really enjoy using this easy-operating and battery-saving mp3-player.
